For those of us in the western world it’s quite common these days to see women doing many of the same things that were once considered activities just for men. Many women now have jobs that were once almost completely dominated by men, like police officer, construction worker or even astronaut. In other places they have very different ideas about the roles of men and women in society, and have established strict laws that bar women from engaging in certain activities. These ideas probably seem strange to us, but for millions of people around the world, it’s all part of their “normal.”

In this Middle Eastern country women are not permitted to drive. Those who support the law say that allowing women to drive would cause a massive increase in things like divorce, homosexuality, pornography, and prostitution.
