Sometimes it seems like a new dating site comes online every week. While most of us are probably familiar with the big names out there that do not cater to any specific demographic such as Match.com or Eharmony.com, there’s a growing number of what might be referred to as niche dating sites that cater to very specific groups of people. Some of them seem pretty ordinary. Take ChristianMingle.com, for example. It’s not too hard to imagine that there are many people seeking love who are very serious about their Christian faith. Then there are sites like SeniorPeopleMeet.com, which is also not so unusual since there are certainly a lot of older people who are seeking companionship. The following 10 sites could certainly be considered niche dating sites, but they’re definitely not your run-of-the-mill dating sites.

This one is just a little bit difficult to classify since they don’t seem to say exactly who their target audience is. It our understanding, however, that there are some people who enjoy dressing up in furry animal costumes, somewhat like the costumes various sports mascots use perhaps. We realize that there are likely to be varying accounts of what exactly constitutes a “furry,” but for the purposes of this discussion, and a not-so-subtle-hint from the website, we’ll assume that a furry is indeed someone who fancies dressing up in animal or cartoon costumes. For most of us it’s hard to understand dressing up in a weird costume without getting paid for it. Other than for Halloween, of course.
