In our last installment, we talked a bit about the trillions of bacteria that inhabit our bodies and make life possible. It’s interesting to note that over 700 varieties of bacteria reside in the mouth alone, making it the most unsanitary region of the body. It’s kind of strange that most of us are squeamish about putting stuff in our mouths that we consider “dirty,” when the mouth is already teeming with bacteria.
