We humans just love traditions and we incorporate them in many aspects of our lives. Traditions are often quite unique to people who live in certain geographic regions, ethnic backgrounds and cultures, and what seems like a perfectly reasonable tradition in one culture could be seen as a little strange in another. Consuming alcohol is an activity that seems to lend itself to tradition in many cultures around the world, and depending on what you are accustomed to, some of them may seem quite strange.

Here it is considered impolite if you pour your own drink. You are expected to keep your drinking buddy’s glass full when they desire it and they are expected to do the same for you. Be careful when actually taking a sip and make sure you don’t turn away when you do it since it is viewed as a gesture of disrespect.
