When she was being treated, doctors found something that wasn’t responsible for her condition, but was interesting nonetheless. A felt-tipped pen was removed from her stomach after she had accidentally swallowed it some 25 years earlier. She had been using it to check out something unusual on her tonsils on one occasion, and had the misfortune of slipping and falling on the floor, making her ingest the pen. Much to everyone’s surprise, the pen was still in perfect working order after being removed.
