A news story with accompanying video about a boat captain being torn apart by a Great White Shark was widely circulated on the internet. Even though it sounds pretty terrible, human nature makes a lot of people want to check something like that out. The goal of those behind this fake story was to get internet users to click through to a website, where users are often prompted to take a survey for which the website owner gets paid. Besides surveys, other things can happen that may be harmful to your computer and your privacy.
