The western world is awash in drugs, and not just the illegal ones. If you don’t know anyone who is taking prescription medication on a regular basis, you are in the minority, and a very tiny minority at that! A few decades back it was nearly unheard of to put children on medication for conditions like ADHD, and somehow many of us got through our school years just fine, even if we were a little too active and prone to daydreaming in class. These days it seems like the medical establishment wants everyone taking some kind of medication – from the six-year-old with ADHD to the ninety-six-year-old with high blood pressure. Unfortunately, most drugs don’t simply treat the conditions that they are designed to treat and leave the rest of our bodily functions alone. It seems as if every pharmaceutical concoction comes with a host of potential side effects. Most of the time they are pretty standard – things like headaches, weight gain, and insomnia. At other times the side effects are downright bizarre, like these, for example.

Yes, Viagra can cause some strange and possible serious side effects, particularly where eyesight is concerned. In addition to blurred vision, Viagra users may also have problems telling the difference between the colors blue and green. Some researchers also believe more serious side effects could emerge, such as blindness due to loss of blood flow to the optic nerve. We have a feeling we know where that missing blood would be hanging out if it’s not making it to the optic nerve!
