7. Fragrance

These ingredients may be listed on the label simply as “fragrance” or “parfum.” Either way, they are intended to make the product smell nice. Perhaps the reason the exact ingredients for these compounds being listed on the label is that some of them contain as many as a dozen chemicals. Nearly all cosmetics and related products have some form of fragrance added to them, even when they are advertised as “non scented!” Many of the chemicals used to formulate fragrance additives are not tested, meaning that nobody really knows what kind of harmful effects they may have. A few of them are known to cause allergic reactions in some people and may also disrupt hormone production.
