1. Tipping

This one is especially interesting for tourists since they are very likely to be dining out and dealing with other people in the service industry who often receive tips. Tips are quite common for servers at restaurants and most of them rely on tips because their hourly wage is so low. Opinions differ on how much a server should be tipped. Some people don’t tip at all, but they are probably in the minority. Usually the tip is calculated as a percentage of the total price paid for the meal. If the service is good, a tip in the 15 to 20 percent range is probably reasonable and is often adjusted up or down depending on how satisfied you were with the service.
