4. Laugh Tracks

Many television comedy programs provide their own laughs in the form of a “laugh track,” which is a recording of an audience laughing. Apparently the people that make TV comedy programs think viewers need to be told when to laugh, so they provide the “cue” for those moments that are intended to be humorous. Those of you from other places that think it’s weird are in good company. Lot’s of us Americans think so, too!
