9. Oatmeal

Oatmeal has been a breakfast staple for a very long time and as we discover more about nutrition and dieting, oatmeal is not likely to be erased from breakfast menus anytime soon. It has a very high fiber content which aids digestion and it also soaks up water like a sponge. It can be eaten raw as well as cooked with water or skim milk, but it is not likely to leave you feeling as full as long as it would when cooked. Oatmeal has an almost uncanny ability to “stick to your ribs” and leave you feeling full for hours since it is slow to pass through the digestive system.
