12. Fugu

Of all the exotic cuisine on our list, this one probably poses the greatest danger to those brave or crazy enough to actually eat it. Fugu is the Japanese word for a species of blowfish which is well-known for an anatomy that produces a deadly toxin. Only specially trained and certified chefs are allowed to prepare it because one simple mistake during preparation could end the life of a customer. About 300 people per year are reportedly killed by injecting the toxin while dining on fugu.
