4. Alcoholic Beverages

This may be one of those “only in Japan” moments. Vending machines on the island nation feature a generous variety of adult beverages from beer to cocktails. We’re not sure about age restrictions in Japan for drinking alcohol, but we presume there must be some technology in place to prevent kids from using these machines. Perhaps the abuse of alcohol is not as problematic as it is in some other countries, but we could be mistaken.
