It appears that man has been somewhat dissatisfied about being restricted to traveling on land since the Wright Brothers achieved their first successful flight. A group called The Research Institute of America came up with a hopeful prediction for the year 1975 – a year that is now 49 years behind us in the rearview mirror. “Along with regular commuter helicopters, the family helicopter will be as attainable as a fancy convertible is today,” they said. As far as we can tell The Research Institute of America that was responsible for that claim is no longer around. Too bad they probably didn’t see that coming.
