It’s not unusual to hear about people who fake various injuries in order to bilk insurance companies. One woman in New Jersey took things to a whole new level by faking 49 slip-and-fall episodes between 1993 and 2000. She collected over $500,000 in insurance settlements, and used much of the money to fuel her gambling addiction. She was later sentenced to four years of house arrest after pleading guilty to 29 counts of insurance fraud.
