9. Paying a “High” Price for Steak

An innocent family trying to enjoy a nice meal was sickened by steak that was contaminated with the hallucinogenic drug LSD. Making matters worse, the wife was nine months pregnant, but was able to deliver a healthy baby boy after doctors induced labor after her arrival at the hospital. It was not clear how the meat, which had been purchased at a local Walmart, had become contaminated, but both state and federal agriculture and health officials were investigating.
