In Great Britain police are on alert for thieves that may have a sweet tooth. A bee hive containing between 20,000 and 60,000 bees was stolen from a community garden in Norwich. Bee keepers, farmers and scientists have been taking note of an alarming reduction in the bee population in many parts of the world in recent years so perhaps these enterprising crooks consider the hive as an investment. Apparently at least two thieves were involved in the heist since the police reported that it would have taken at least two people to move the hive. It is presumed that the thieves would be smart enough to ensure that the hive remained outside where it is cold during this time of year. Otherwise, showing up in the emergency room with bee-sting ravaged bodies would probably be a good tip-off for the cops.
