When Otis Mobley Jr. was hauled into court after being charged with attempting to sell a grenade launcher, the last thing he probably expected was a homework assignment. But that is exactly what Judge Yvonne Gonzales Rogers ordered him to do if he wanted to be free on bond while awaiting his trial. Mobley was ordered to spend at least an hour a day reading and a half-hour each day writing a book report. The judge supplied the reading list.
