7. Vacation Scams

Everyone loves to go on vacation. Well, almost everyone. Scam artists know this, and they also know that using exotic tropical locations to pitch their vacation scams are a big help. Some of these scam artists go to great lengths to appear legitimate – even establishing real companies and renting office space. Fake vacation package “memberships” are popular with this group of scam artists and the deals they offer their victims often sound too good to pass up. Vacation cruises are also an angle that vacation scammers like to use. These are also likely to be most effective over the telephone where the scam artist can really use their charm and persuasion to convince victims what a great deal they are being offered.
