Around the beginning of this year, some sneaky hackers managed to compromise more than 100,000 smart household appliances and use them to send some 750,000 spam e-mail messages. While the idea that your fridge may be able to send you an e-mail or text message to let you know you are running low on milk sounds cool, it’s not so cool when it is basically hijacked and used to send “male enhancement” spam messages to your neighbors.
