Michel Fourniret (“Ogre of Ardennes”)

Fourniret’s crime spree started in the 1980’s and stretched into the 2000’s, an unusually long period for a serial killer to get away with his crimes. Fourniret confessed to murdering nine girls and was accused of taking the lives of ten others in both France and Belgium. Although he claims to have committed no crimes between 1990 and 2000, authorities in five other European countries suspect he may have been involved in unsolved crimes in their jurisdictions. After his trial in 2008, he was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for 22 years. A sentence we definitely consider WTF-worthy!
