7. Pandemic

That’s a word we have been hearing more about in recent years as experts worry about a new flu virus or other disease that we are not prepared to deal with. The recent Ebola scare is a stark reminder of how vulnerable we all are to a tiny virus that we cannot even see. It’s not impossible for a massive pandemic to sweep across the globe and reduce the population dramatically or even kill off all human life on earth.
