We’re finding it hard to break away from the Asian region while considering this topic, and the next delicacy is one that’s popular in The Philippines. It’s prepared by taking a fertilized duck egg and boiling it similar to the way we would prepare a hard-boiled egg in the west. It’s very important to let the embryo inside the egg mature enough to begin taking on the form of a baby duck. The egg is peeled and consumed whole, including bits of feathers, duck bill and bone. One wonders if it tastes like chicken.
