The Easy Bake Oven, made by Hasbro, has been delighting kids for about five decades, and many adults today have fond memories of playing with one when they were growing up. In years past, the oven used a simple 100-watt light bulb to provide the heat that allowed the oven to bake things. In 2007 it became obvious that the light bulb might not be the best way to power the oven. Two recalls were initiated after reports of children getting burned and others having their hands of fingers trapped in the oven’s opening.
