Yes, once in a while someone is lucky enough to come across some good, old-fashioned cash that someone mistakenly discarded. A few years ago a woman reported that she accidently threw out $15,000 in cash that her husband had secretly hidden inside a Styrofoam cooler. The cash was never found, or perhaps it might be more accurate to state that the cash was never reported as being found.
