10. Strength In Numbers

As we alluded to earlier, there are a mind-boggling quantity of insects in the world. Some of them like to spend a lot of time hanging out together as well. A nest of ants discovered in Jamaica was said to have more than 630,000 ants living there. Termites in South America easily bested that with some 3 million found in a single nest. As impressive as those numbers are, they are trounced soundly by the locust, which can travel in swarms that number up to a billion individual hungry, crop-chomping bugs. That’s something you don’t want to see headed for the family farm!
