As humans, we’re a pretty curious bunch. We’re not content to know that a bird flies – we want to know how it flies. This, of course, does not apply to the entire human race, since there are those that seem content to plod along through life while questioning very little. The other extreme are the scientists who sometimes want to know the answers to questions that the rest of us don’t see much value in. We sometimes hear about research studies that sound downright ridiculous to us. The following may fall under that category but oftentimes, ridiculous is in the eye of the beholder.

1. Too Much Face Time

It’s often said that people who are married for long periods of time begin to look alike. The science isn’t exactly cut-and-dry on this one, but one study from the University of Michigan asked participants to match married couples by looking at pictures of them when they were first married and pictures of them 25 years after marriage. The study found that the subjects judging the pictures taken 25 years after marriage had a better success rate when it came to matching them up. There are a number of theories as to why couples may begin to look alike after a number of years, but no real conclusions about why it might happen.
