Someone who obviously spends too much time observing sheep decided that they wanted to know how good they are at recognizing faces. The Babraham Institute set about to find the answer and used pictures of both sheep and human faces. The sheep were rewarded with a treat when they demonstrated the ability to recognize a face. The study concluded that sheep are able to distinguish among approximately 50 sheep faces. They were also able to recognize the face of a familiar person.
