4. Mount Logan

Mount Logan rises almost 20,000 feet above sea level along the border between Canada and Alaska. Although we don’t often hear its name, it’s noteworthy due to the fact that it is the second highest mountain in both the United States and Canada. In a mountainous region known as the “Himalayas of North America,” is home to some extremely harsh weather. A temperature of –44F was recorded on Mount Logan one summer (!), although a relatively “balmy” –8F is the average temperature there during the warmest time of the year.
