Siberia is well-known for having some of the worst winter weather in the world, and one can imagine that only the heartiest of people would take up residence there. In fact, it is where the coldest temperature on earth outside Antarctica was ever recorded. A nippy –89.9F gripped the tiny village of Oymyakon on February 6, 1933.
