6. Bouvet Island

Known as the most remote island on planet earth, Bouvet Island is 1,000 miles from the nearest land, if one can call Antarctica “land.” No human inhabitants make their home on this remote island due to the lack of just about everything. Then there’s the weather. The average low temperature is below freezing and a “heat wave” on Bouvet Island is probably anything above freezing.
