7. Summit Camp, Greenland

As the name suggests, this location is not much more than a camp. It’s one of those places where scientists like to hang out and measure just how crazy things can get. They rarely (if ever) see temperatures above 12F during the summer and in the winter, the mercury can dip to a deadly –54F. We don’t know how long it would take to freeze to death if left exposed in conditions like that, but it’s probably not even long enough to say “hand me a coat.”
