8. Southern Patagonian Andes

In the far southern reaches of the Andes mountain range lies an area that extends into the ocean. It’s proximity to Antarctica subjects the area to ferocious winds and violent storms that sometimes last for weeks. The weather in that area of the world is so extreme, no attempt to build a weather station there has ever been attempted.
