In Maharashtra, India a bizarre tradition is intended to bring good luck and good health to babies by dropping them from a 50-foot temple tower. Fortunately for the babies, they are caught by a group of men below who are holding a sheet very tightly. The baby is then passed among the people in the gathering to the waiting mother. It would be interesting to know how many people in that region have a fear of heights.
