5. Faithful to the End

Female “circumcision” is a practice that is extremely controversial in many parts of the world. Despite the immense pain and hazards that accompany this procedure, the Sabiny people of Uganda continue it to this day. In order to be considered a woman, a girl must endure a procedure which involves the cutting or complete removal of clitoris. It is believed that this will ensure that she is a strong woman who will be able to endure any hardship that she faces in life. It is also believed that it will discourage her from being unfaithful to her husband. Death is not an uncommon result after this procedure.
