3. Capybara

Hearing the term “rodent” probably makes most people think of mice, rats, gerbils or hamsters, and although the capybara is a rodent, it’s in a whole other class! Picking out one of these to bring home involves a bit more commitment than most “normal” pets, since some species can grow up to four feet long and weight more than 100 pounds. They will also require a spacious outdoor area with a pond or other small body of water.
