7. Gamma Rays

Sounds like something from an episode of Star Trek but the reality is that gamma rays are very real and extremely dangerous if they happen to be fired off on the wrong direction. Gamma rays are powerful beams of ionizing radiation which is hazardous to biological organisms. In other words, if a a supernova happened to fire off a strong enough dose of these rays at our planet, all life here could come to an end.
