8. A Real Bully

The story was inspired in part by the Greek myth of Theseus and the Minotaur. When it comes to creepy figures from mythology, the Minotaur is right up there. Since the myth involved the city of Athens offering up seven boys and seven girls for the Minotaur to eat, the parallels between the myth and Collins’ books become more clear.
