Villagers living in Bolivia recently accused two men of stealing three motorcycles from them. After they were captured, the alleged thieves were tied to a tree called a triplaris tree. What’s interesting about this tree is that they tend to attract venomous ants. Lots of them. You can probably guess the rest. After relatives paid nearly $4,000 to compensate the villagers for the motorcycles, the two men were released. The attack from the ants left one man in need of kidney dialysis and the other in an intensive care unit.
