When an Ohio woman appeared before a judge after being charged with driving her car on the sidewalk in order to avoid having to stop for a school bus, the judge decided that a little public humiliation might be the best way to punish her. She was ordered to stand at a busy intersection holding a sign that read: “Only an idiot would drive on the sidewalk to avoid a school bus.” She also had to give up driving for 30 days and pay a $250 fine.
