Since it’s common knowledge that most smart phones are just small computers that happen to have a phone built into them, you might get the idea that they may be vulnerable to hackers. You would be right. A nasty little virus-like program called “Oldboot” infected at least 500,000 smart phones in various places around the world just recently. China was especially hard hit by this nasty program that is able to do nifty things like install new apps silently without the user’s knowledge, inject malicious code into the phone’s operating system, modify the user’s internet home page (Hey! Want to buy some Viagra today?), and can also remove or disable apps that are meant to prevent nasty apps from being installed on your phone!
