If there’s one human endeavor that deserves to be preserved for future generations, it’s torture. Seriously though, we can see the value in a collection like this with the hope that those who gaze upon it resolve to never even consider employing devices for the sole purpose of inflicting pain on others. The museum houses a morbid collection of various contraptions that were conceived of with only one goal in mind: human suffering. Among the collection are devices designed to chop, poke and squeeze those that were unfortunate enough to be subjected to them. Accompanying the displays are paintings and written material detailing how the devices were used. Sadly, there are still individuals walking the Earth today who would like to try these things out on another human being, although we’re thankful we live in a time where inventions like these are no longer being developed. At least we hope that’s the case!
