6. Jumping Spider

Being a male jumping spider is not walk in the park. When mating time comes around, it is the duty of the male jumping spider to impress the female no matter what it takes. The male is expected to create vibrations that the female spider will actually be able to detect with her legs. That’s a pretty tall order for a tiny spider! In addition to that, he needs to look pretty good, too. If, for whatever reason, the female dislikes a potential suitor, she can simply eat him and there’s not a whole lot he can do about it.
