We humans adapt pretty well to changing weather but the thought of lounging by the pool and making a snowman on the same day is something few of us will ever get to do. During 1911, a number of locations in the Midwestern United States set both record low and record high temperatures during a single day. On November 11 a huge storm system swept across the area and brought severe storms and wild temperature swings to the area. In Kansas City the temperature rose to a comfortable 76F during the day and then plunged to just 11F by midnight.
