6. Ear Shaping

Yes, there are those among us who desire, for one reason or another, to look like “Mr. Spock” of Star Trek fame. Granted, not everyone is a going for that “Vulcan” look, and there are indeed many variations on the practice. Some people desire to give their ears a more elf-like appearance, which is referred to “elfing.” The appearance is pretty much the same whether one is going for the “Mr. Spock” look or an elfin character from Lord of the Rings, but we suspect it could be quite insulting to the bearer of such ears to make the mistake of presuming that they are either on or the other.
