6. Giving It All Away

Before you give up ownership of your phone, make sure it’s clean. Whether you’re selling it, giving it to a friend or trading it in for another one, be sure to delete all your information. Make sure you back up all your important files before you delete them, of course. If you want to make sure your phone is totally clean, just do a “factory reset” on it before you turn it over. Just Google for something like “factory reset for iPhone 5” (replacing “iPhone 5” with your model) and you should easily find all the info you need to wipe your phone clean.
