It’s well known that a number of bad movies have attracted a cult following, but The Blob? The 1958 sci-fi “classic” featured a big ugly thing called The Blob that more-or-less oozed and squished its way around a fictional town in Pennsylvania devouring people and growing in size at an alarming rate. Not surprisingly, The Blob arrived here from outer space, having hitched a ride on a meteor, or something like that. According to Blobfest’s Facebook page, the 3-day event includes screenings of the original film, re-enactments of the “theater running-out sequence,” competitions and a street fair. Blobfest appears to be going strong with the next event scheduled for July.
