10. Flushing Money Down The Drain

This one is a double feature, so to speak. Both Virginia and Maryland tax every flush of a homeowner’s toilet. The politicians say the tax is intended to help offset the cost of treating waste water. How they figure out how many times a toilet has been flushed we don’t know. Maybe they have some kind of secret deal with the NSA or something.
