Speaking of trust, it’s quite interesting to learn that some of our “friends” at the big telephone and internet companies are serving our information to the spies on a silver platter. Some of the largest communications companies in the world have allowed surveillance equipment to be installed inside their facilities in order to make data-gathering easy for the NSA and their pals. Now we know that those “privacy notices” they send us every so often do not apply to government spooks who collect our data without going through all the hassle and inconvenience of getting a judge to approve that activity. It would be such a pain to have to get hundreds of millions of court orders, and that’s just for snooping inside the United States!
