2. The Tongue Patch

For someone who cannot imagine living with the constant discomfort of having a pierced tongue and associated hardware installed, the idea of having a plastic patch sewn onto the surface of your tongue is downright cringe-worthy! The procedure, which is normally performed by a doctor, is intended to cause pain when the dieter consumes solid food. A liquid diet is all that’s possible unless the dieter happens to be a masochist.  Beyond having to subsist on a diet of kale and flaxseed smoothies for months, wouldn’t it just be insanely uncomfortable and annoying to feel like the poor dog with a piece of candy wrapper stuck to its tongue?
